FAQ:

How do I apply? How much does it cost?

To apply, please email one of our agents. There is a $75 application fee for each application. Each persons over the age of 18 residing in the property must put in an application.

How can I sign my lease?

You can schedule a time to come sign your lease or inquire with one of our agents about signing your lease electronically! Use the Calendly link that says “schedule a showing” on our CONTACT page to schedule an appointment.

Can my parents call and ask questions about my lease?

When it comes to asking questions about someone’s lease, we are only allowed to speak with the actual person(s) or guarantor on the lease itself.

Do I need a guarantor?

Anyone applying under the age of 21 will be required to have a guarantor.

Is the rent rate per room or for the whole property?

The rent rate listed is for the whole property. Example: if the property is a 2 bedroom property listed at $800 and has 2 tenants living there, each tenant’s rent would be $400.

Do you allow pets? How much does it cost? Is there pet rent?

Most of our properties do allow pets. The website lists the units which do and do not allow pets. The pet fee is $500 and is non-refundable. We do not charge a monthly pet rent.

What are the terms of the lease? Does Maroon & White Realty offer short term leases?

Our lease runs from August -July of the following year. The lease terms are nonnegotiable, however, we do allow for subleasing should you need to leave the property before your lease ends. Of course we’d love for you to stay for the entire lease but we understand that life happens! There is a $500 lease transfer fee and you would need to negotiate the terms of the deposit, keys, move in date, etc with the new tenant you find. Any tenant subleasing should notify the office, in writing, of their intent to sublease and the new tenant must be approved.

Are there any utilities, cable, or internet included with my rent?

No, utilities, cable, and internet are not included in most cases. This is property specific however, so you should check with an agent to make sure! (NOTE: If you live outside of the Starkville city limits, you will be charged an additional $13/month for Trash Pickup.)

Do I have to put down a security deposit?

This too is property specific, but most of our properties requires a security deposit that is equal to 1 month of rent. Be sure to contact us to make sure! (Example: if your rent is $600 a month, then your security deposit would be $600.)

Does Maroon & White Realty handle pest control?

No, pest control is a tenant responsibility. We do not cover any pest related issues.

I have an issue that requires maintenance. How do I notify Maroon & White Realty?

All maintenance orders are to be entered through the RESIDENT PORTAL. You can access this on our website or by the URL listed on your lease. Someone from our office will contact you from there regarding the next steps or ask for additional information once a support ticket has been submitted. You can submit a work order at anytime day or night!

What are Maroon & White Realty’s hours of operation?

Our standard hours of operation are 9:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday. Due to the nature of our business and the need to go where the real estate is, often times we are required to be out of the office in order to do our jobs effectively. Although 9:00am-3:00pm are our typical office hours, please be aware that those hours do vary day-to-day.
